Electric Scroll Compressor

The electric scroll compressor is a "fully hermetic" design, meaning that the cylinder heads, gaskets, shaft seals and other parts have been eliminated for a component that is virtually refrigerant leak-free. This simple, reliable design has over 80% fewer parts than a reciprocating compressor and is roughly 200 pounds lighter.

Inside the compressor is an integrated electric AC motor that drives two scroll wraps, one stationary and one that orbits, pushing a smoother flow of refrigerant through the system that reduces vibration, noise, and component wear and tear.
